On the road - and arrival at the Marriott -out of sequence post

We left the Bedoiun Camp about 2 hours ago. The car literally crawled over a very scary and high mountain pass. Took over an hour to get over as the road was really bad....and after asking George (our driver) about 2000 times “Are you sure we are going the right way?”….sure enough we are. I can finally see the Dead Sea in the distance…..but for now just miles and miles of white desert around us. Coming down the mountain the landscape looked like one of those bottles filled with layered sand......many hues of golds, reds, white and browns.
Got to the Marriott....like an oasis after the past 2 days. It is beautiful...at least for one night of luxary. 4 swimming pools...but I found the "adult" infinity pool (no screaming kids) which looks as if it pours into the sea. Below in the sea people bob around like corks covered with mud. Of course, we had to try. What an experience. We slathered ourselves with black mud and crawled in (this seemed to be "the way" as there are lots of rocks on the bottom) Let the mud wash off...float for a bit and get out...and of course rinse the salt off. A very unique experience. We hung out poolside....then had dinner of a very small Caesar salad and glass of wine for each: $75. Wow...don't know how "normal" people afford this!! Glad we are off to cheaper digs tonite...at least I hope.
