Petra

Well I don’t know how mnay times I have used the adjective “amazing” in this blog….but Petra is truly that. I was a bit reluctant to go…I mean it’s a mound of rock carved buildings but this was very, very special. The nighttime tour was a highlight. The paths were lit the entire way with “luminairias”. Walking through the narrow canyon at night with the moon shining above the canyon walls was spectacular. But when we arrived at the “Treasurey” which was all aglow with candles it was breathtaking. They had a couple Bedouin who played for us...in the dark...just the candles and the moon. We couldn’t believe it would be as good during the day…but it was. We walked, rode horses and camels…again! What a way to go!! We had a really great time before heading off the Turkish baths for a rest in the steam baths….a short nap on a marble slab (is this where I am going to be embalmed?) and then a private rub and rub-a-dub-dub and massage. Ahhhh. A bit more shopping and then on to “Camp?
